POWERHOME Solar has a mission of building a movement — one solar panel, one customer and one employee at a time. But the company is far more than that — it’s interested in helping the communities it serves, which is why it sponsored WXYZ sports anchor Justin Rose’s Top Shot for St. Jude at Top Golf in Auburn Hills, Michigan, on Thursday night.

Rose lined up a great event that raised more than $8,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Attendees were treated to three hours of food, golf and entry into the Top Shot Tournament, along with the chance to win donated memorabilia that included autographed items from several sports teams in and around the Detroit area, including the Detroit Pistons, Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Lions, Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans.

“Anytime we can do something for children, and do something in the community, we’re excited about that,” POWERHOME Solar CEO Jayson Waller told those attending the event.

Along with being the sole sponsor of the event, POWERHOME brought a special guest in Lions kicker Matt Prater, who is at the far left of the group photo taken atop the page. POWERHOME teamed with Prater and the Detroit Lions last year to donate 100 turkey dinners to families in need last Thanksgiving. The fast-growing solar company also staged an event in the Detroit area last September to stuff a semi truck filled with relief supplies and sent it to Wilmington, North Carolina, one of the areas hit hardest by Hurricane Florence.

Rose plans to make his event an annual one, so make sure you start following the two-time Emmy Award winner on Instagram and Twitter for additional details in 2020 and beyond.
