Businesses small and large continue to see the value of utilizing solar energy to power their infrastructure. For example, in POWERHOME Solar’s company footprint, it has helped Sutton Leasing, a national fleet company in suburban Detroit, get a sizable portion of their energy through solar panels. And on larger scales, companies such as Facebook see the value in this renewable energy source as well.
The social media giant announced in coordination with Dominion Energy that it will bring six solar projects totaling 350 megawatts online by mid-2020. Five of the six projects are being purchased from other developers, and three of those five (totaling 235 megawatts) have yet to be completed. Half of these six projects will be in Virginia, and the other half will be in North Carolina.
Facebook won’t be physically powered by this clean energy, but it will be buying renewable energy credits that allow it to pursue a goal of powering its global operations with 100 percent renewable energy by 2020.
Perhaps the best news regarding these solar plants is that they will not impact Dominion ratepayers, per a report from PV Magazine’s Christian Roselund.
Solar panels for homes and businesses
POWERHOME Solar loves seeing the continued embrace of solar energy, and the moves toward clean energy by others serve as a great reminder that POWERHOME is ready to serve residential and commercial customers who want to lower utility bills and their carbon footprints.
POWERHOME Solar is ranked No. 12 nationally among residential rooftop installers, and the commercial portion of its business is ready to take off in a big way as well. We have partnerships with four pro football franchises, including the Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers, along with one pro baseball franchise in the Cleveland Indians. That heightens the credibility of our brand and showcases the value that very visible organizations and entities are placing on clean energy.
Utility bills never go away, but your solar payment has an end date. And when those payments end, that energy is completely free to you. Better yet, our solar panels come with a 30-year warranty, meaning that you will be generating carbon-free energy for decades.
For more information on how your home or business can go solar, call us at 800-765-2715, and we would be happy to speak with you. Unlike Facebook, those who go solar with the help of POWERHOME will be powered by the energy generated by their own panels. It is indeed great to own your power, and not just rent it from the power company!
