“I knew we had an opportunity to bring positive change when we started the company. We had the right people and we had the right product. The benefits of solar go well beyond savings — it’s so much bigger than that. We are truly helping customers make a positive environmental impact on the world and changing the way everyone thinks about power. By showing the importance of owning your power, we change how others see the world, how their kids will see it, and how their kids’ kids will see it. What we do is cool and makes a difference in customers’ lives.”
Jayson Waller is the CEO and spokesperson of POWERHOME Solar. After rebranding the company in 2015 with just 15 employees, he has overseen growth in the past four years that has led POWERHOME to employ nearly 600 people and exceed $100 million in revenue for the first time in 2018. Those highlights helped Waller earn recognition as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2019 Southeast Award winner in the Emerging Services category. Waller also has earned three gold Globee Awards, two for Professional of the Year in the Energy & Utilities and the U.S. categories, and one as Entrepreneur of the Year. POWERHOME was ranked as the No. 6 residential rooftop solar installer in the U.S. by Solar Power World in 2019, and also in the same year, the company was ranked No. 100 on the Inc. 500 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America, marking the second time the company has reached this prestigious honor.
Under Waller’s leadership, POWERHOME has developed partnerships with five pro football franchises (Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers), and one pro baseball franchise (Cleveland Indians). POWERHOME already has installed solar panels for the Lions, Browns and Panthers.
