This 30 kVA three phase isolation transformer is a high-efficiency unit designed for reliable voltage conversion in industrial and factory power systems. It converts 480V to 415V and supports step-up and step-down operation for flexible integration. With a dry-type air self-cooling structure and durable build, it ensures stable performance in workshop and industrial applications while supporting multiple voltage configurations. And the voltage configuration is flexible on both sides.
Note:
Q1. What does "dry-type air self-cooling" mean for a 30 kVA transformer, and why does it matter?
Dry-type means the transformer uses no insulating oil ā unlike oil-filled (wet-type) transformers common at higher ratings. Air self-cooling means natural convection is sufficient to dissipate the heat generated at 30 kVA without fans or pumps. In practice, this means no fire risk from oil leaks, no periodic oil testing or replacement, and no specialist containment bunding required during installation. It also allows installation in occupied buildings, switchrooms, and indoor industrial facilities where oil-filled equipment would require additional safety measures or be prohibited by building codes.
Q2. Can this transformer be used in both step-down and step-up configurations on the same site?
Yes. The unit supports both 480V-to-415V step-down and 415V-to-480V step-up operation. On sites where both voltage levels exist ā for example, a facility with a 415V local grid that also needs to feed a 480V piece of equipment imported from North America ā a single unit can serve either direction depending on how it is connected. As with all PowerHome's isolation transformers, output voltage in the reverse direction is reduced by approximately 2% due to transformer losses, so the specified direction of primary use should be confirmed at the time of order to ensure optimal performance.
