Size a purpose-built three-phase autotransformer from the maximum apparent power delivered to the load. Use the required output line-to-line voltage and maximum output line current to calculate load kVA, then select a catalog rating equal to or greater than the result. Do not reduce the purchased load rating using the voltage-ratio formula unless the manufacturer specifically rates the product by winding kVA.
