    Overview

Our 10 kVA dry-type 3-phase isolation transformer steps down 400V to 240V, or steps up 240V to 400V. Manufactured for direct sale, it delivers industrial-grade quality at a lower cost than comparably rated alternatives. Compatible with AC 50 Hz and 60 Hz power systems, it covers a broad international footprint — from commercial buildings and manufacturing plants to precision machining centres, CNC workshops, and electronic equipment installations. Both voltage sides are independently configurable, enabling the same unit to serve multiple project types without customisation lead time.

    FAQ

Q1. Is the 400V to 240V ratio the right choice for my application?

The 400V-to-240V pair is most commonly needed in two scenarios: (1) facilities running a European 400V three-phase supply that need to power 240V-rated equipment — common in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and parts of the Middle East — and (2) installations where 240V single-phase loads need to be derived from a 400V three-phase distribution system using a step-down transformer. If your voltage requirements differ, the primary and secondary are independently selectable from 120V to 480V, covering most standard grid configurations worldwide. Contact PowerHome with your specific input/output voltage requirements if your target pair is not 400V/240V.

Q2. What is the difference between the open type and the IP 24 enclosure type for a 10 kVA unit?

At 10 kVA, the choice between open-type and IP24 enclosures becomes more significant than at lower ratings.

    • The open type is suited for installation inside a purpose-built electrical cabinet or switchroom where it is already protected from the environment and accessible only to qualified personnel.
    • The IP 24 enclosure type provides a self-contained housing that guards against solid objects larger than 12.5 mm and water splashing from any direction — making it the right choice for standalone installation in workshops, plant rooms, or any location where the transformer is exposed to ambient conditions. The IP 24 unit is slightly heavier but requires no additional enclosure investment.
