Q1. Can the input and output voltages of this 4 kVA three-phase isolation transformer be customised?
Yes. Both primary (input) and secondary (output) voltages are independently selectable from 12 standard AC values ranging from 120V to 480V, including 208V, 220V, 240V, 380V, 400V, 415V, and more. The transformer supports 50 Hz and 60 Hz, making it compatible with power grids across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Custom voltage configurations and power ratings are also available on request.
Q2. What is the difference between the open type and the enclosure (protected) type?
The open type is a bare-core unit intended for installation inside a switchboard or panel enclosure where external protection is already provided. The enclosure (protected) type comes with an IP 24-rated metal housing, suitable for standalone installation in machinery rooms, factories, or commercial buildings where the transformer is directly exposed to the environment. Both types share identical electrical specifications; the enclosure type is slightly heavier.
Q3. Does this isolation transformer convert frequency or single-phase to three-phase?
No. This unit converts voltage only — it does not change the supply frequency (50 Hz stays 50 Hz, 60 Hz stays 60 Hz), and it cannot convert single-phase power to three-phase. It requires a balanced 3-phase input and delivers a 3-phase output. If frequency conversion or phase conversion is required, a separate frequency converter or phase converter should be used alongside this transformer.
