    Q1. How does this 7 kVA isolation transformer protect control circuits and electronics?

    The galvanic isolation between primary and secondary windings breaks the direct electrical path between the supply grid and connected equipment. This eliminates common-mode noise, prevents ground loop currents, and blocks transient spikes from reaching sensitive control electronics — including PLCs, servo drives, CNC controllers, and precision instrumentation. Combined with ≥ 50 MΩ insulation resistance and a class H insulation rating, it provides a stable, clean secondary voltage that reduces nuisance faults and extends the service life of connected equipment.

    Q2. Can I use this unit as a step-up transformer (208V to 380V)?

    Yes. Like all PowerHome.com's isolation transformers, the model is bidirectional and can be connected in reverse to step up 208V to 380V. Note that when operated in the reverse direction, the output voltage is typically reduced by approximately 2% due to transformer losses — so a 208V input would yield approximately 204V rather than the full 208V label value. If you need a precise output, specify your intended direction of use at the time of order so the unit can be wound to optimise performance for your application.
