    Overview

Powerhome's 5 kVA 3-phase isolation transformer. With a standard configuration of 480V primary to 400V secondary — and a wide range of selectable voltages on both sides — it bridges common international voltage differences in industrial power distribution networks operating on 50 / 60 Hz. Its non-ventilated, dry-type construction makes it rated for use in hazardous locations and harsh industrial settings, including petrochemical plants, metro & rail transit infrastructure, manufacturing workshops, and commercial buildings where enclosed, maintenance-free operation is essential.

5 kVA three-phase isolation transformer feature

    Feature

    • Isolation for Enhanced Electrical Safety: The isolation power transformer provides effective isolation between primary and secondary circuits, helping reduce electrical interference and improve system reliability.
    • Non-Ventilated Design: Enclosed structure allows safe operation in dusty, humid, or hazardous industrial environments where ventilation is limited.
    • Compliance with Low Voltage Regulations: Built to meet relevant low-voltage safety standards, ensuring dependable performance in commercial and industrial applications.
    • Flexible Voltage Configuration Options: Supports a wide range of customizable voltages, allowing adaptation to different countries and project requirements.

    FAQ

Q1. Is this 5 kVA isaolation transformer truly bidirectional — can it step up as well as step down?

Yes. The isolation transformer operates in both directions: it can step down 480V to 400V or step up 400V to 480V. Note that when used in reverse, the output voltage is typically reduced by approximately 2% due to transformer losses — for example, a reverse-connected 480V input would yield approximately 470V rather than the full rated value. Both voltage directions, as well as all other primary/secondary voltage combinations, are selectable at the time of order.

Q2. Can the voltage and power rating be customised for my specific application?

Yes. Both primary and secondary voltages are independently selectable across 10 standard values from 120V to 480V (including 208V, 220V, 230V, 240V, 380V, 400V, and 415V). Winding material (aluminium or copper), enclosure type (open or IP 24 protected), and power rating can all be tailored to project requirements. Custom configurations are available on request — contact Powerhome directly with your target voltage pair and installation conditions.
