Q1. Is this 5 kVA isaolation transformer truly bidirectional ā can it step up as well as step down?
Yes. The isolation transformer operates in both directions: it can step down 480V to 400V or step up 400V to 480V. Note that when used in reverse, the output voltage is typically reduced by approximately 2% due to transformer losses ā for example, a reverse-connected 480V input would yield approximately 470V rather than the full rated value. Both voltage directions, as well as all other primary/secondary voltage combinations, are selectable at the time of order.
Q2. Can the voltage and power rating be customised for my specific application?
Yes. Both primary and secondary voltages are independently selectable across 10 standard values from 120V to 480V (including 208V, 220V, 230V, 240V, 380V, 400V, and 415V). Winding material (aluminium or copper), enclosure type (open or IP 24 protected), and power rating can all be tailored to project requirements. Custom configurations are available on request ā contact Powerhome directly with your target voltage pair and installation conditions.
