With POWERHOME Solar opening a new commercial division in Michigan, you figure to be seeing more projects like this one coming in the near future.
Sutton Leasing, a family-owned and operated national fleet management company based in Sterling Heights, Michigan, is now benefiting from clean energy at its corporate headquarters generated from 122 roof-mounted solar panels installed by POWERHOME Solar. The job in suburban Detroit will help Sutton Leasing meet its new sustainability goals for 2019, which include the use of renewable energy.
POWERHOME Solar’s roof top ballasted system will produce approximately 46,000 kWh a year, with potential of savings of $6,500 the first year.
“As a fleet management company, we are very aware of rising CO2 emissions and carbon footprints,” Sutton Leasing president C.J. Sutton said in a statement. “Sutton Leasing recognizes the importance of protecting the environment and we are focused on minimizing the impact of our work practices. POWERHOME Solar is providing an ideal solution to help us meet our renewable energy goals.”
POWERHOME Solar not just a residential solar company
POWERHOME’s primary focus through 2018 had been on its residential division, but the company sees an opportunity to help commercial entities also go green in 2019. Businesses also can take advantage of the 30 percent federal tax credit before it is reduced to 26 percent in 2020 and 22 percent the following year.
The Rhodium Group, an independent research firm, recently released a report saying carbon emissions in the U.S. rose 3.4 percent in 2018, which is the second-largest annual gain in emissions since 1996. While transportation remains the largest source of emissions, buildings and industry posted bigger gains compared to 2017.
“The benefits for businesses installing solar panels this year include significantly reducing their carbon footprint, energy bills and a 30 percent federal tax incentive on newly-installed solar systems,” POWERHOME Solar CEO Jayson Waller said in a statement. “Combined with the new 21 percent corporate tax rate that went into effect a year ago, conditions are ideal for businesses to make the leap to renewable solar energy.”
Who is POWERHOME Solar, and how can it help me?
Since entering Michigan in 2017, POWERHOME has made significant strides in the state, having become an official partner of the Detroit Lions. POWERHOME installed solar panels on the parking garage at Ford Field and at the team’s practice facility in Allen Park in 2018, and it was also named the Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council’s Emerging Business of the Year in November. The company is proud of building a movement of clean, green energy, one solar panel at a time, and we would love for homeowners and commercial entities to join us on that journey.
With our innovative solar program, homeowners can go solar for $0 up-front cost, save money on their electric bills, and generate their own clean energy. Commercial customers also have some attractive financing options available to go solar. POWERHOME installs American-made solar panels that come with a 30-year warranty, and many panels expected to last well beyond that.
